CHILLAZ - SEARCH & RESPECT
Chillaz was born in rock faces and is at home in the Tyrolean mountains. Search & Respect - these are the two legs on which we have walked step by step through the world since 2001. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes very exposed. But always upwards and with joy.
SEARCH
Everybody thought that's not possible? If we had known that, we would not have made it either. But instead, we just went for it. Like gourmet chefs, we are always looking for new inspirations, creations and recipes.
Obsessed with quality and wildly experimental, we select only the most valuable fibers from hundreds of ingredients and test ever new variations. So that we can also serve the freshest design made of superior functional fabrics every season. Did we get through at the first go? Oh no. But eleven times failing at the key point is ok as long as you try twelve times.
RESPECT
Exploring limits is nice, but limits must be respected! Our respect is for nature and the people who are part of the Chillaz Family! Sustainable management and fair trade is a matter of course for us and not a marketing campaign! We cultivate handshake quality and transparency. Building on short distances and resource-saving work with natural, sustainably produced fibers. In this way we share the values we create with the world.
And this is how we create clothing you can always rely on. No matter how ambitious your projects are.
Ulf Kattnig - The Story
It all began during his time in Hong Kong, when Ulf Kattnig, shortly after graduating from commercial academy and 3 semesters of business studies, pushed into the practical side of business. As an intermediary between designers and production he restlessly whizzed around. "For sports fashion, for climbing, you would have to create your own fabrics," he suggested one day. In vain. Too expensive, not necessary, they said.
That itched in his fingers - do it yourself. The idea was tempting and became established. Together with his friend Florian Proxauf, back in his native Tyrol, they set about realizing it in 2001. It was to become a quiet brand. The paths between design, prototype and production were to be kept short. Manageable. Familiar, so to speak.
Sandra Kattnig (at that time Emmer) joined the team in 2003 as a reinforcement in design, marketing and web design. In 2004, his partner Florian left the firm and successfully completed his law studies, and continues to accompany the Chillaz Family as a lawyer.
Chillaz?
The name "Chillaz" is derived from "chill, relax, be quiet" and the ingenious climbing area "Zillertal".

Honesty, innovation and great materials. We want to produce garments that people like to wear every day, even after the garments have had their best days.

New denim pants enter the Chillaz collection and add another success story to the collection.

Chillaz takes a run across the pond and increases the Chillaz fan community.

2018-2019
The new favorite piece comes in a sleeve or bag made of recycled paper. The packaging can be put into the waste paper together with the paper tape.
2020
We are expanding our warehouses and offices so that we can develop further.
