FOUNDATION OF LEKI
LEKI Lenhart GmbH originated from Karl Lenhart's wood processing company, which was founded in 1948 in Dettingen/Teck, Germany, and produced wooden letters for lettering in bakeries or butcheries.
The unique development of LEKI only began due to the personal dissatisfaction of the founder: Karl Lenhart was an enthusiastic skier, but he was never satisfied with the quality and functionality of the ski poles of that time. So he started to produce handles and plates for ski poles himself with his machinery. Already in the 60s these went into series production. Since Lenhart also had experience in aircraft construction, he knew how to process aluminum and composite. He used these raw materials to manufacture his first own ski poles and launched them on the market in 1970 under the name LEKI, which stands for the owner and the company headquarters - Lenhart in Kirchheim.

THE PRODUCTS
